In the holiday spirit, I embarked on a festive DIY project with the kids, crafting Christmas bows for mistletoe. Little did I know that my eagerness to spread holiday cheer would lead to an amusing, albeit sticky, situation.
The Festive Crafting Fiasco:
As we gathered our supplies, including the trusty hot glue gun, I designated a dining chair as our makeshift workbench. We began bonding bows to mistletoe, but amidst the merriment, some hot glue dripped onto the chair. I unknowingly sat right on the gluey mishap.
The Hilarious Outcome:
After sitting on the glue (I didn't notice), I stepped out of the way and breifly leaned against the kitchen door. The laughter quickly ensued when I attempted to move again and found myself glued, quite literally, to our kitchen door! I had inadvertently left a sticky imprint on the door and peeled away some paint in the process.
How I Unstuck Myself and Cleaned Up the Mess:
Quick Thinking: I calmly leaned away from the door, gradually pulling myself free without any major wardrobe malfunctions.
Adhesive Removal: To remove the hot glue from my pants, I placed them in the freezer for a few minutes, allowing the glue to harden. Then, I gently peeled it off. Alternatively, you can use rubbing alcohol or acetone for tougher glue residues on fabric.
Cleaning Up the Door: A gentle scrub with warm, soapy water and a sponge helped remove the remaining glue and paint from the kitchen door.
